stupid stupid stupid......
This is when I need a D'oh smilie...
I went to the grocery store by work today, like I do every Monday. As I tried to pull into a too tight parking spot, I scraped up the car next to me. D'oh! I left a note, then went in to call Hubby...I've never done this and didn't know what to do. He says take the note off the car and go home and call the insurance guy. Dumb, dumb, dumb! I went to work and called the insurance guy...his office told me to leave a note and call them back. Got back to the parking lot and the car was gone. Stupid stupid stupid!! Drive home in tears, put in another message for the insurance guy and call Hubby back. The insurance guy calls me, we chat, and I find out that if someone calls it in, I could get charged with hit and run!!! I called the police out at work and "turned myself in."
The owner of the car called me (she must have called the police or something) and she's going to call my insurance guy. I feel A LITTLE better....but D'oh!!! My car just lost a ton of paint on the bumper. Dh says we can fix it. D'oh!!
I feel totally sick about this....she said, "oh accidents happen. That's why they are called accidents" and seems just fine....I can't wait to see what this does to our car insurance...which just went down, BTW. Oh well.....6 years of driving and this is my first accident. THAT should make me feel better, right? I just want Hubby to come home and give me a hug......

That's my biggest fear every time I enter a parking lot. This is why I do not scoff at BILOSORD's need to park far away. After my Car-meets-cart corral incident, I have been extremely gun shy about parking. I'm so worried when the day comes and I will be forced to park next to someone.
Well, I TOTALLY thought of you....but this was WAY worse than your incident. And to top it all off, I was ALSO wedged into the space and hung-up on the curb. Sucked sucked sucked.....But BILOSORD says that we shouldn't have to pay anything out of pocket, and that it should just effect our premium. It will be her insurance that will pay AND she'll probably have a deductable. Hopefully it will all be ok......
I went to work yesterday to pick up my paycheck, and the parking lot was PACKED, so I had to park for real. I chose a great spot, though. I turned left into the spot, like dad said to do, and as I was turning I figured I was a little close to the car in front of me... The one that would be on the right of my truck. So I started to back up and I realized the car was a Lexus! I stopped breathing and pulled my truck in going "Don't hit the Lexus, Don't hit the Lexus" It was scary!
