I'm goin' to Taco John's!!!!

Locations Map
I learned to LOVE Taco John's when I was at school in Duluth. We used to have one at the mall by my house, but it closed 3 years ago. I only remember that because we went to the mall to celebrate our anniversary, so I could have Taco John's and Hubby could have Burger King....and Taco John's was GONE!!!! Last night, sister and I were looking at various franchises online and looked up Taco John's. I TOTALLY forgot that Duluth has FOUR Taco John's!!!!! I already told Hubby that we HAVE to go the the Mall so I can get Taco John's. And the one by the lake...he can get McDonald's and we can go to the lakewalk or Park Point and have a picnic :) I am SO excited!!! Hubby laughed when I told him. "We'll have to buy extra so you can bring some home and freeze them" :) There are no easy to get to TJ's in the near area...I think the closest ones are like 20-30 minutes out.
If I could own a franchise, it would be TJ's, just so I knew there would be a restaurant near-by..... Maybe the old Cousin's Subs is being turned into a TJ's....maybe not though, since the store next door is a Taco Bell *sigh*

Explosion Party

Hee-hee...my mom, my sister and I are going to the Aquatennial Fireworks tonight. I think they are some of the best fireworks EVER!! Last night, I told Hubby, "Just the girls are going to the big party tomorrow." He asked, "What party?" My sister looked at me and at the same time we said, "The explosion party" :) I love how my sister and I can do stuff like that, without even knowing that the other is going to say it. We rock :)
The Big Scary Paper class starts Tuesday. Lynn tells us not to stress, but we are. I have been reading a really good book, called Killing Monsters by Gerald Jones. Yes, he writes comic books and "translates" several Japanese favorites for American audiences...remember Pokemon? He did that! So, yeah, he's going to defend media violence in the lives of children. But I totally see his point, that giving the children the opportunity to play with thess violent ideas in fantasy allows them the chance to face them in a safe place (within a fantasy environment). The problem that I am facing is how to present this a a world that is SO anti-violence. I am NOT going to tell teachers to allow gun play in their classrooms, but what about rough and tumble fighting, what about allowing "dying" and "killing" as long as the children involved are happily playing and no one is uncomfortable? I CAN'T let this freak me out...baby steps, and it WILL get done, regardless of what others think about the topic. My OTHER concern is presenting this is a Lutheran setting (my workplace AND the University!!). I am a firm believer, from my expereinces in the classroom, as well as the research I have found (Oh, I should find a few more "con" resources!!), in active dramatic play being a teaching tool. So, I guess I just ahve to defend that for 50-100 pages :)
Well, I think I'm gonna try to give my self a french manicure....suppose I should redo my toenails too, while I'm at it. My reunion pedicure is just starting to chip off. I'm ALMOST tempted to just go to Red Nails and have them do it....but I'm cheap and trying REALLY hard not to charge anything. We are seriously talking about are credit card debt :) I was supposed to call the credit card people about transfering our balances, but I haven't. But, I did book 3 nights at a hotel in Duluth :) I can't wait. We're leaving the city :) I wonder if my sister will stay at the house.....Hopefully Fancy Pants (a.k.a. Kitty Sunny) won't kill her :) Apparently, my cat hates my sister...and it's funny :) An on that note...off to give myself spa treatments and a shower :)

*sigh*

Ok....reunion went well. Everyone wanted to know when we'd do it again :) We rock!!!
Stayed up TOO late talking with Dragon online. That was....interesting. Can't really talk about it, though.
Tomorrow is the 4th...parade, fireworks, fun. A friend of a friend invited us to her house, but I don't think we'll go. We'll have my sister and Dragon over and meet up with the rest later. I'm just afraid Simon will have to "choose sides" and I don't want that. That's no good. But, I know I can't run around all day and have fun later at the fireworks. Being home and having friends over is MY tradition....I can have fun and relax....and if I get chilly, I have my clothes here :)
Better go make dinner....and finish the laundry!

How cute......

This is the growing trend in "techy" things. First the cutie, now the ticker.....
