Trick or treat!!

Happy Halloween :)
I was a pirate at work today. Pretty odd at a Lutheran child care center, but I got compliments from our director (my boss) AND the facilities guy, who is usually a grump :) We had a "party" of sorts with the kids. I suspect one of my co-workers will want to change things next year...maybe I'll be fat and pregnant (or on maternity leave??) and just not give a damn :)
We installed a new storm door this weekend. That was a FUN way to spend Saturday :P Well, the door looks good, although it's kind of weird. It's a full window, so it's like there is nothing there. I'm not horrible comfortable with it, but it was a happy compromise. Too bad we didn't buy one for the back door too while they were on sale. *sigh* Our plan is to get one in the spring, with our tax rebate....but I'm not sure if the back door is sealed as tight as it should be. So, we may have to pay full price and just get a door before winter. Otherwise, my suggestion is to seal the doorway with weather film unitl we can get a door. Ahh, the joys of home ownership :)
Did everyone change their clocks back? We did. I just wish we didn't have to change them at all....time (clock time) is just a human thing anyway. Time is going to do whatever it wants regardless of what we make our clocks say.
I have a sore throat. Either the stinky monkeys at work gave it to more or Sister did. Oh well...I got yummy cough drops to help take care of it :)

This is when I need a D'oh smilie...
I went to the grocery store by work today, like I do every Monday. As I tried to pull into a too tight parking spot, I scraped up the car next to me. D'oh! I left a note, then went in to call Hubby...I've never done this and didn't know what to do. He says take the note off the car and go home and call the insurance guy. Dumb, dumb, dumb! I went to work and called the insurance guy...his office told me to leave a note and call them back. Got back to the parking lot and the car was gone. Stupid stupid stupid!! Drive home in tears, put in another message for the insurance guy and call Hubby back. The insurance guy calls me, we chat, and I find out that if someone calls it in, I could get charged with hit and run!!! I called the police out at work and "turned myself in."
The owner of the car called me (she must have called the police or something) and she's going to call my insurance guy. I feel A LITTLE better....but D'oh!!! My car just lost a ton of paint on the bumper. Dh says we can fix it. D'oh!!
I feel totally sick about this....she said, "oh accidents happen. That's why they are called accidents" and seems just fine....I can't wait to see what this does to our car insurance...which just went down, BTW. Oh well.....6 years of driving and this is my first accident. THAT should make me feel better, right? I just want Hubby to come home and give me a hug......

Sister and I JUST watched him on the Fraggle Rock DVD Friday night! I almost fell off the couch when I saw this in the paper this morning. The odd thing is, we talked about him.....and never knew he was a) from MN or b)dead. Weird......
Oh...and I checked imdb...the man who did the voice of Wembley is now the voice of Kermit. And Richard Hunt (Junior Gorg) died in 1990. But I think the voice of Mokey is still alive, but she hasn't done much since the early 90's. Maybe she's in hiding.....

rainy night

holy cow is it raining! Almost killed the car coming home from work...serious! I think something happened to the electrical cuz the battery light came on twice, the headlights dimmed and I lost my power steering for a moment. Hubby checked it out a while later when the rain let up and it seemed ok. Hopefully everything will be ok in the morning.
Gotta shower and go too bed. Lots of long days lately. I can't wait to come home tomorrow after work and sleep....or revise my paper and contact my chair...and clean the fish tank....grrrr....I better go to bed so I'm not a bear tomorrow!!
