nothing....

Blah.....woke up in a crappy mood and just pissed at Hubby....just for being male! All I could think of was all the stuff I had to do today and how I was not going to get any help. Was kind of blucky and antsy at work today....and then we had out planning meeting and one of my new coworkers (hmmm....She needs a Disney name....How 'bout Mrs. Incredible, only cuz she didn't like the movie and I think it's funny :) )started asking about the schedule and it SOUNDS like she's like to see the class run like we used to run it a few years back...and I LOVED it that way :) So that could be sweeeeet :) Our room as been in flux for....months, it seems and it's really starting to get to me. I felt so....constrained and claustraphobic today and just wanted to scream!! But I didn't :) Anyway.....got off late, went to the grocery store, got out of there late, got home....and had to clean out the freezer just to make room for new groceries (since I can't get into the deep freeze, since Hubby decided to use the top for storage...AGAIN!)....then Hubby gets home and doesn't offer to help. He just goes off to hook up his speakers. Blah! Boys suck!
I've been re-reading The Five Love Languages but Dr. Gary Chapman. I always thought that Hubby's language was Receiving Gifts...but now I'm thinking it's Acts of Service, since he seems to like me doing things (everything!!) for him. I think mine is Quality Time, specifically Quality Conversation. I was telling Hubby about the book and stuff and he thought it sounded very cool, but he has yet to read the book. That won't happen....but a girl can dream.
Two week writing break starts tomorrow and I still don't have my paper back from my instructor. My current instructor said to email her, but I already did last week and never heard from her. Apparently, I'm not the only one without feedback, but I'm the only one concerned. *sigh*
Well, I want to go play video games for a while...and then I'll scramble upstairs to take a shower, and be all crabby at myself for procrastinating.....

Centennial Lakes

Centennial Lakes
I spent the afternoon here, reading about anti-bias and multicultural education. The reading wasn't great, but at least the setting was :) I started out at a table, so I could eat my PB&J, and then moved down the way towards the amphitheatre. It was all shady and under a tree and just happened to be the duck's nap room. There were 7 or 8 ducks, sleeping and hanging out in the grass. Did you know that ducks have lower eyelids that act like our upper lid? They blink up! I was THAT close to the ducks. And when they quack that close, it's LOUD! And there is one carmel colored duck...she was SO pretty. I just wanted to pet her, she looked so soft. It made me sad that it's pretty much the end of the nice days....it was almost 90 today. A HUGE storm blew through around 7pm. Sirens sounded and everything! Pitch black and scary! But, it's all done, and now it's only about 70 out...and that's where it's supposed to stay. *sigh*

I get to be first!!!

Ah yes...because Sister has dial-up at home, she probably won't get on to post in her blog, so I get to be first to share my bastie turtle plan :)
Ok, I don't have one, I just wanted to be first to write "bastie turle plan" :) Now I'm off to finish my paper, cook a pizza and continue to blow my raw, stuffy nose :( Oh yeah...and cough all over the computer too.....colds suck :(

Minnetonka Orchards

Minnetonka Orchards
This is the other orchard that we have been to in the past. They don't have yummy donuts, but I think it was a better place for a large group of children. Plus they have a recipe for apple dumplings here....that calls for a can of Mt. Dew!!!

Apple Jack Orchards

Apple Jack Orchards
This is where we went yesterday. I want to go back for raspberry picking...yum :)

Come to the Darth Side.....

Guess what I found at Target this past weekend? Dark Chocolate M&M's....Oh Yeah :) I can't remember if I mentioned it or not, but it's definatley worth repeating.....unless you are all going to run out and buy them all...then that would suck, cuz 4 bags is really not enough :)
I think I am getting sick (no I'm not....no I'm not....no I'm not....if I say it enough, I won't get sick!). I woke up today feeling like poo. Took my last sinus thing and went to work. Course, the sinus thing triggered post nasal drip which has triggered a sore throat. Yeah. But, I am running a low-grade temp (nothing like the 100.2 that one of my little guys had today :( ), and I just want to sleep. So, I TRIED to read another chapter for class, but I decided to do my bulletin board post instead, and I think I'm gonna call it a night. My house is a mess....furry and dirty and the garbages are full, and the newspaper basket is full and the fish tank NEEDS to be cleaned. Whine whine whine! I fell asleep on the couch yesterday after the trip to the Apple Orchard. It was a fun trip, but I like Minnetonka Orchards better. But Apple Jack's has YUMMY donuts :)
Ok...guess I better blog those sites....after I feed the kitties :)

finders keepers!!

I have to tell you about my kitty Fancy-Pants. Actually, her name is Sunny, but she is super fluffy, and it looks like she's wearing fancy pants :) She's a bit of a weirdo. She was more than likely a street kitty, and so she used to be VERY possesive of her food. She'd sit at her bowl and growl while she ate. It sounded like she was saying "yum yum yum yum" (Too bad I can't add sounds...I do a great impression of her :) ). She acts all tough around the other cats, but she's afraid of thunder and will hide in the basement or linen closet. Actually, one of her favorite places is the linen closet. She scared off the dog across the street with one of her very fierce hisses...ok...that's not quite true. She did scare the dog, but her hiss was more of a whisper. It still scared the dog and made us laugh. But the FUNNIEST thing....her FAVORITE things in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD are rubber bands and balloons! Now, before I start getting comments telling me how unsafe those items are for cats, let me tell you that we don't just let her have them. She loves them because they are forbidden. Every morning, we take the rubber band of the newspaper and hide it in a drawer. Well, if for some reason we lose one, she'll find it and run through the house growling. She's even been known to knock over a garbage can to get a rubber band. She wasn't even in the room when I hid it in there!!! She LOVES this blue balloon I had from a school project. I had to keep the package locked in a file cabinet because she kept digging the package out from the hiding spots! So now she has one that we keep in the night stand. We play with her with it. I'll toss it for her, and she'll run and "point" to it...she'll toss it in the air and then sit next to it and wait for me to get it. BUT, if Rory is around and she feels that the balloon is threatened, she run off with it, growling the whole way. The good thing is that she ALWAYS runs to the coffee table in the living room :)
Hee-hee...I was just thinking about the night she stole a little smokie off the counter and went running through the house with her little "cigar" growling and trying to eat it :) She ended up upstairs and gave me a couple of good clawings before I got it away from her. She's so cute :) But she's kind of evil and hates EVERYONE except for me and Hubby. She REALLY hates Sister and Dragon. I can see why she doesn't like Dragon, but Sister is so very nice to her and has even tried to feed her and play balloon with her and she even plays the phone for her (Oh yeah...Sunny LOVES the phone and other high pitched noises :) She has been known to answer the phone in the bedroom :) )....but yet, Sunny still hates her.
Ok....enough about my cat. I should read or good to bed or something. Tomorrow is the Apple Orchard :) I hope my tummy is feeling ok...it's not feeling great right now. Kind of like the night my sister and I went to Zapatos.....
Whoa! I just realized that Hubby proposed 8 years ago today, Spet 13, 1997. Yeah for us :)

Seller website: http://aspenairinc.com
I don't know why I can't actually GET to the Aspen Air site....but these are the people that cleaned out our air ducts. I don't know if it helped, but they did clean out the furnace and pulled a HUGE pile of fluff and stuff out of the ducts. I don't know that Hubby's allergies have lessened any....but if it helps our furnace run more efficently for a while, or if it just keeps it running for a few more years, I'll be happy.
Still haven't talked with the boss....She did "let me" stay late yesterday, so I'm only 15 minutes short. I'd be ok with that for a while, and I don't think any of my teammates would complain. They all like leaving at 1. I would prefer that extra 30 minutes. So, maybe that's our happy compromise. Doesn't change the fact that I yet again had to "take one for the team," but if it means I can safely buy groceries again, Woo-hoo!
On another note.....Sister-in-Law (hmmm...she needs a name....any ideas?) and her Hubby bought a house today. Just a few miles from here. Guess this means we're gonna have to start having double dates or something, and pretending like we like each other. Hubby and I are Mountain Dew and pizza kind of people (I think her Hubby would like to be too :) ). SIL is more of the "Fencie" wine and sushi kind of girl. I like her Hubby though....he's a nice guy...and I suppose if I tried I could like SIL too.
Although, MY sister and I would have WAY more fun together :)

This is a VERY special Blog....

...for it is SOMEONE'S birthday today :) And since I shouldn't embarrass her on HER blog, I shall do it here :)

Bon anniversaire a toi :) Pardon my French :)Hope you are having a wonderful day, despite classes, a possibly haunted residence and all the financial woes that have shown up on your door. We will eat MASSIVE amounts of crab this weekend to make up for the poopie week :) Happy Birthday, Sister (aka Kattghoti)!!!
Love ya (sorta)!!!

procrastinating.....

I have a paper due tomorrow. I put it off because it seemed SO easy. Personal narrative, 3-5 pages max...blah, blah, blah. I'm on page 4, on the 4th section I need to write about...and I just can't get motivated to write more. ARGH!!! I'm tired and need to take my contacts out, but am too lazy. I have to work at 6:45 tomorrow am. I'm supposed to be having a chat with the boss about my schedule. Not looking forward to that. Long story short (since I have said I will not write about work here...can't afford to get "caught" and get fired...), we got 3 new full time staff in my room (to replace 2 full time and 2 part time staff....go figure). They got more hours than I did. Uber upset this weekend, due to the new lack of finances. Went in to work today early to do some stuff and talk with boss. Instead talked with another "boss" and cried, etc. I told her I was upset and just needed to bounce this off someone who would listen. After work, I finally tracked down boss. I asked about hours and she said, in a creepy way, "I heard you had a talk with X this morning." I told her I was upset and had been given instructions to not get fired. Then she said we'd talk about it tomorrow. So, I'm a little freaked that she'll say I was WRONG to say anything to X, and that I insisted on extra staff (not the way she did it!), blah, blah. Still doesn't make it ok to give the "senior staff" fewer hours over new people! Grrrrr.......
Ok...better get back to my paper. Maybe pop my contacts out first and quicky pound out the last 2 parts. It's on my culture. How did my culture influence my desire to be an educator? Ummmm.....I just wanted to play for the rest of my life! I guess I just can't get my mind off the fact that culture is not just race...but even then, I haven't dealt with or been exposed to many other cultures....I've lived a very sheltered life, mostly by choice. Good thing it's a short class. Bad thing....Ethics for Educators (or something like that!) is next! I just need to get A's for these last few classes so I can graduate with a 4.0....or I'll cry!!
