It's almost Monday :(

I can't believe my super long, 5 day weekend is almost over :( Wednesday was great...got the house cleaned, got new tires on the car and got the "check engine" light taken care of...Thursday was fine. Turkey turned out almost all done (just 3 little pieces needed to be put back in the oven..phew!), all the families got along fine, although Hubby noticed that my mom was quiet all night. Hopefully if she's in a snit about something she'll tell me or SORD (who will tell me). Maybe she was just tired...? Friday I got all my homework done and played my flute for a half hour. I miss playing....I'd definatly be in better shape, musically, if I played more often. Today I went shopping with my sister and bought a few Christmas presents and some new clothes...and new pillows. I am SO excited about the new pillows, even if they don't quite fit in the shams :( Still haven't replaced my lost fish. Maybe tomorrow. I also put in about 2 hours of cross-stitching on a Christmas present for a coworker. I think I am going to stop at the General Store Monday after work, since I don't have class, and get the rest of my Secret Santa gifts, and maybe find a couple things for my mom....maybe even MIL....we'll see.
Ok..better feed the kittens and get ready for bed....with the new pillows!!!

Holy cow! What a day.....
Saw Darth Vader driving his car today. Hubby told me he was in the store a few weeks back selling discs, and told me what kind of car he drives (why, I don't know..?) . I drive past his block on the way to work, so I guess it's weird that I haven't seen him before today, but I guess I wasn't expecting that kind of car. I don't think he saw me, even though I was looking right at him as he turned the corner. His face has slimed down a lot, and I think he was wearing a suit. I wonder if that means he's still at the electronics store...?
ALSO....went to Caribou for a Hot Apple Blast and ran into my high school band director. How wild is that?!?! We sat and talked for a while...she's still as busy as ever. Her hair is almost as long as mine, and she is very excited about the reunion. She still has all kinds of sweatshirts and photos, so maybe she can lend us some for decorations at the Club. I still haven't told the committtee. I'll have to email them tonight. After some homework, I guess.

OMG!!!

There is a Caribou opening about 4 blocks from my house!!!! I have HATED this new development since before they broke ground, but if that Caribou opens soon, I will forgive them. Hot Apple Blast, here I come!!!!

Harbringer of death?

Ok...so why do my fish keep dying? I just got this one 10 days ago....and now he's almost ready to go back to the store so I can collect on that 15 day money back guarentee. I think it's something with the tank, so on the plus side I'll get a free water test. On the not-plus side, I'll be short a fish, and they probably won't let me replace him today. That will be an odd number...9!! That's no good! oh well....maybe next week I can get another fish and have 10 again...

Update: Ph level was WAY too high. So, we add Ph Down a few drops at a time, and I should be able to add fish next weekend. I was gonna suck out the tank, but now i think I'll wait until Wednesday, and add the amquel and the ph down and hope for the best. Sad that I lost a beautiful fish, but I'm glad I can fix the water.

Almost Friday!!

UGH! Sometimes I just dislike husbands!!! He gets home from work and goes right to the computer. Ok, yes, I like to read the paper after work....but goodness sakes...is it too much to ask to have the dishwasher unloaded when I get home? Apparently so. The sink (both sides!) was almost full to the top, and yet he didn't seem to notice that MAYBE the dishwasher should be unloaded. And the recycling....not just ONE overflowing grocery sack but TWO...and the bulk of it was Mt. Dew cans. I drink at the most 3 Dews at home, so the rest (including the Sunny D bottle that he balanced on the top) is his. If it had been a recycling week, he would have taken them out. So apparently, every other week he helps out.....
Ok...vent done. Now I can get on to the productive part of the evening.....cooking dinner (and cleaning up afterwards....)
OH....the steps are almost all cleaned off!! And I'm getting new tires Wednesday :)

Did you know that Christmas has already started and it's not even Thanksgiving? How wrong is that?!?
I have much homework and am super unmotivated. PLUS...I just realized the work I WANT to do is not what I'm being asked to do. AND the two samples seem to be for two different assignments. Although, only half are word files, so some are saved online, and some are on Word. Not a bad thing, but a little annoying.
"Nanny 911" is such a crazy show....a little over the top, but these families SO need it. I want to be a hard-ass like her when I grow up :)
I'm getting a new bathroom door this weekend....whoo-hoo. I'm sad about losing my old glass door knob, but I started tearing up so I got to pick the antique-y looking doorknob (the lever kind). It's good to be a girl, sometimes :)

Welcome to Monday

Monday.....ugh!
Not too bad, I guess. I was supposed to get a fish for work this weekend, and I just couldn't do it. We had this huge discussion Wednesday about getting a fish and I was uncomfortable because I didn't want to be left responsible for the darn thing. One of my co-workers said she'd take the responsibilty to feed it, clean the water, etc, and it should be ok. It was the whole, "if it dies, then it dies" comments that made me uncomfortable. Fish can live like 2 years....they were all talking about this fish like we would have it and HOPEFULLY it will die in a week or two so we don't have to take care of it. I just couldn't do that. "It's just a fish." No, it's an animal, a pet, something that you just don't put out and maybe take care of. I told them I'd feel better setting up a full tank, with several fish, that can be at the kid's level so we don't have to stress one fish out by moving the tank to the table every day so the kids can see it for a little. BLAH! Then I had to tell another co-worker that we couldn't have the climber in the room cuz I don't want to get fired. Our Fearless Leader said she didn't think it was safe (we all disagree....but whatever) so we removed it. She didn't tell anyone else in the center, so someone else set it up in the muscle room. I just couldn't say, "sure" have Fearless Leader come in and me get slapped with insubordination again. At least my co-worker understood and said she'd talk with Fearless Leader. And don't even get me started on the Christmas program!!!
OY! I just sound like a bitch, don't I? I'm not...just a control freak :)
BTW...everyone needs to check out www.lileks.com and read The Bleat everyday. It rocks :)

only a half-assed slacker

Ok...got the groceries ordered, laundry done, bulletin board posted, MOST of the reading done....I'll do bills tomorrow after I get paid. And I'll have to clean the fish tank too.
We are getting ready for Thanksgiving. I'll get the turkey tomorrow, and a few other things. It will be cheaper than getting it from Simon's, I think. We have been cleaning the house, too. Yeah, our house is such a pit that it takes 10 days to get it ready for company. My goal is one step cleared off a day, as well as decluttering the hutch, dining room table and living room table. We are also trying to get the bathroom door replaced, since the current one doesn't shut. We've only been here 5.5 years...what's the rush? That of course leads to new moulding and paint (that area has never been painted, so it's about time!). Yippee! I can hardly wait....my mother, my mother-in-law, my sister-in-law and her stepson all at my house!!! I told DH that I will consider Thanksgiving a sucess if I don't end up in our bedroom in tears before the night is over.
And I'm hosting Thanksgiving again why???

Hmmm.....not getting much done.....
Been headachy and lazy all day. Sleepy too, after staying up until 3am last night. Wanted to talk with Dragon, but he was not online. Eh, what can you do?
Well, I guess I should go switch the laundry so i can get at least one thing off today's list and not be a complete slacker.
